Quick Cascade Nitro Coffee Keg Lid
Looking for a better way of infusion your cold brew coffee with nitrogen? You found it!
No more waiting days, or having to shake your keg to infuse your nitro coffee!
This keg lid features a ball lock gas post which is attached to a piece of food grade hose, that has a stainless steel .5 micron diffusion stone on the end of it. The stone will hang down in the bottom of your keg of cold brew coffee (or other beverage) and allow the nitrogen (or other gas you may be using) to infuse into your beverage from the bottom up. This makes infusing cold brew coffee for serving nitro coffee on draft much easier and faster than having to shake your keg!
The Nitro Coffee Carbonating Keg Lids come in 3 different length hoses depending on which size kegs you are using for your cold brew:
- 5 Gallon Keg = 24" Length
- 3 Gallon Keg = 15" Length
- 2.5 Gallon Keg = 13" Length
- 1.5 Gallon Keg = 5" Length
How to use the Quick Carbonating Keg Lid:
Before Getting Started:
Make sure your beverage is COLD (34–38°F ) before proceeding. The colder the better! Gas absorbs into cold liquids much better than warm.
Instructions for using a Quick Carbonating Lid for Beer:
- Boil the stone for 2–3 minutes before using to ensure that your stone is sterile and remove any residual/oils.
- Sanitize the entire keg lid, line and stone before dropping into your full keg.
- Set the PSI on your regulator to 2-3 PSI and attach your gas disconnect to the gas in post on the keg (not the post on the carbonating lid). Pull the releif valve a few time on the keg lid to purge any oxygen in the keg.
- Remove the gas hose from the gas in post on the keg and attach it to the post on the top of the carbonating lid. Leave keg at this pressure (2-3 PSI) for a few minutes.
- Raise your pressure 2-3 PSI every hour until you reach 10-12 PSI. Leave at this pressure for 24 hours.
- Pour yourself a beer. If you feel it needs more carbonation, leave the lid on for another few hours and test the beer again. When you have reached your desired carbonation level, you can swap the carbonating lid with the standard keg lid so that you can use the carbonating lid on another keg. Remove the gas line from the keg lid, release pressure from your keg by pulling relief valve on lid. Return original keg lid, then reattach your gas line to the gas post on your keg.
- After each use, properly clean and sanitize your entire keg lid, and boil your carb stone so that it will be clean and ready for your next batch.

This thing works October 28, 2024
By Logan
I added this to my nitro cold brew coffee setup and now I get the great infusion and cascade from the first pour to the last. I think this works so well because the stone sits next to the intake tube so it is always delivering freshly infused coffee.

Ordered two of these: one for club soda, and another for nitro cold brew. They are very well-constructed and work like a charm!

Good product and saves time March 15, 2021
By Nitro
It works really well. The downside would just be having to boil the stone between uses to keep clean. Small extra step, but overall the product is well worth it.

Eh November 30, 2020
By Jobuzo
I followed the instructions and the beer has very little carbonation. Let it set 2 more days at 15 psi. will check today. Thus far there is a lot of bubbles in the headspace, not much in the beer itself.
